Community spirit is alive and well in Pacific Beach — and Realtor Steve Springer is inviting you to roll up your sleeves and join him at one of the neighborhood's most impactful events of the year: the 15th Annual Graffiti Cleanup, hosted by the Pacific Beach Town Council.

Taking place Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will gather at Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church (1675 Garnet Ave. at Jewell) to help clear graffiti, stickers, and vandalism throughout our vibrant coastal community. All supplies, training, and even coffee and doughnuts will be provided — you just need to bring your enthusiasm and community pride.

"I love seeing our neighbors come together to keep Pacific Beach looking its best," Steve says. "This is the kind of event that makes a real difference and reminds us of how special our community is. I’ll be there, and I encourage all of you to come out and join the fun."

Last year’s cleanup brought together over 130 volunteers and removed more than 700 graffiti tags — and this year, organizers are aiming even higher to celebrate 15 years of community-driven success. Thanks to local sponsors like Motsenbocker’s Lift-Off, PB Presbyterian Church, PB Ice Cream Co., and Fitness West PB, the event continues to grow and thrive.

New technology is also making cleanup efforts even more efficient. Volunteers now use an app that allows them to document graffiti locations in real time, streamlining the removal process. The Pacific Beach Town Council has steadily expanded the program over the years, mapping graffiti data and providing safe, effective materials to volunteers — including Motsenbocker’s Lift-Off, a graffiti remover that's tough on tags but gentle on surfaces.

Whether you’re a long-time resident, student, business owner, or newcomer, this is a great way to give back, meet neighbors, and help keep Pacific Beach clean and beautiful. Community service certificates will be available for participants.

"I hope to see many familiar faces out there," Steve adds. "It’s a small investment of time that leaves a big impact on our neighborhoods. Let’s make this the best cleanup yet!"
